Treasure Lake History
Formerly a parcel contained within the real estate owned by John Du Bois (founder of Du Bois) this community was officially established as a planned community in 1968. This was when John Du Bois Jr (Nephew of Du Bois founder) sold the property to Great Northern Development Company, and the then named Lake Rene became Treasure Lake shortly thereafter.
It was at this time that the Decleration of Restrictions was developed and the sale of lots began. Since that time the Treasure Lake POA has taken charge of all the ammeneties at Treasure Lake and the once private getaway has become a 2000 home gated development with over 9,000 acres of wooded area with 2 additional lakes other than just Treasure Lake.
